Case Studies
Selected projects across industry, manufacturing and IT/OT – from the initial challenge to implementation.
FOOD MANUFACTURING | 2025–PRESENT
Scaling production data.
From brownfield connectivity to a shared data foundation – approx. 400 production assets.
IT/OT
Challenge
A heterogeneous production environment with different machines and interfaces needed to evolve from individual connectivity solutions into a scalable foundation for production data.
Our contribution
We developed the target architecture for existing and new machine integrations, structured production data based on ISA-95 principles and implemented data connectivity using technologies including OPC UA, MQTT and a Unified Namespace-oriented architecture.
Together with OT and IT, we also addressed networking, virtualisation, access, security, operations and support.
Outcome
The approach was taken from pilot architecture to a production-ready and operationally supportable platform. It provides the foundation for applications including OEE, traceability, production reporting and operational analytics, as well as the further rollout across machines, lines and sites.
FOOD & PROCESS MANUFACTURING | 2026–PRESENT
Prioritising digitalisation by value.
From production challenge to implementation project.
OEE & Quality
Traceability
Reporting
Challenge
There were numerous opportunities for digitalisation across production. The key question was not which technology was available, but which operational problems were worth solving first.
Our contribution
Together with production, engineering and management, we identified improvement opportunities and prioritised them according to operational value and technical feasibility.
For selected use cases, we derived the required machine data, interfaces, information models and applications and developed suitable integration approaches and target architectures.
Outcome
Prioritised topics moved from workshops and concepts into concrete implementation projects. At the same time, reusable approaches were established that can extend beyond individual machines and pilot areas.
LIFE SCIENCES & HEALTHCARE | 2026
Developing the IT/OT target architecture.
Challenge
Heterogeneous production systems and different integration approaches made it difficult to establish a common foundation for production data and future digital applications.
Our contribution
We assessed existing production systems and integration requirements and connected operational use cases with the required data, interfaces and organisational prerequisites.
Based on this, we developed architecture concepts around standardised interfaces, Unified Namespace and reusable industrial data services.
Outcome
Management and technical teams gained a shared target architecture and an aligned basis for prioritising the next implementation steps.
AUTOMOTIVE | 2025–2026
Digitalising shopfloor processes.
Creating consistent workflows for production orders and operators.
Tier-1 Supplier
Digital Shopfloor
Work Orders
Challenge
Production orders, work instructions, operational feedback and machine-related issues were spread across different workflows and tools.
Our contribution
We structured operator workflows and developed the requirements for a common digital shopfloor application.
The scope included digital production orders, order confirmation, work instructions and the capture and communication of machine-related faults. Manufacturing processes and operator requirements were translated into functional and UX requirements.
Outcome
Fragmented and partly manual workflows were transformed into a standardised digital process. The work covered process and requirements definition, application design and implementation support.
IT & TECHNOLOGY SERVICES | 2024–2026
Developing industrial offerings that work.
From customer requirement to a viable solution.
55+ industrial companies
Smart Industry
DACH & Europe
Challenge
Industrial customer requirements need to be translated into offerings that are technically viable, commercially sound and realistic within existing production environments. At the same time, the corresponding business unit had to be built and positioned in the market.
Our contribution
As part of a multi-year engagement, we supported Smart Industry activities and industrial customer projects from the initial challenge and business case through architecture and implementation planning.
The work covered industrial data architectures, MES/ERP integration, Industrial IoT, Edge, UNS/MQTT, analytics and cloud, as well as offering development, go-to-market activities and technology partnerships.
Outcome
More than 55 industrial companies across automotive, healthcare, pharma, food and manufacturing were supported in Smart Industry and digitalisation initiatives.
The engagement combined industrial customer requirements with architecture, business development and solution design from the perspective of an international IT and technology services provider.
